Class of 2024 - Senior Spotlight: Sarah Steinhagen

This week, we're thrilled to showcase the incredible talents of our Interior Design Students. Students worked in groups to create 3D model homes using cardboard and miscellaneous materials. Each group made a different architectural style home and showcased key common features of that style. The 4 homes featured for this week's Artist of the Week are Craftsman, Mediterranean, Victorian, and Pueblo Revival. Class of 2024 - Senior Spotlight: Hunter Smith

RAIDER REMINDER: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS BEGINS Be sure to set your clocks an hour AHEAD before bed tonight!!

Fourth and fifth graders have been learning about the Iditarod Dog Sled Race during STEAM. Groups researched a musher and then had to design a dog sled that could be pulled with a Sphero robot. After making the sled, groups had to code their robot to follow the "race course" which was taped to the floor and modeled after the actual Iditarod course. Many groups had to modify their sled design to reduce the friction and allow it to glide better on the floor. Coding the robot took time through trial and error attempts. Second graders spent some time learning about westward expansion and the Oregon Trail in their classrooms. To wrap up the unit, groups had to design and build a covered wagon that could be pulled by a Beebot robot. After building the wagon, they filled it with supplies that pioneers had to take with them on the long journey. Groups then had to code the robot to head out west and follow a trail. Fifth-grade after-school connections students are working hard on their wood duck houses with the lumber that was donated by Haggenmiller Lumber. Houses are almost finished and will be ready for students to take home and hang after spring break.

ATTENTION RAIDER NATION: There will be a Fishing Club meeting tonight (3/8/24) starting at 7:00 PM in the Fish Bowl. Students and parents in grades 6-12 interested in joining should attend for information on the upcoming season. We will also be looking to establish coaches, get a practice schedule going, and start designing uniforms.

Class of 2024 - Senior Spotlight: Britney Smith

CONGRATULATIONS to Micah Fenney for being named to the 2023-24 All-Conference Boys’ Basketball Team! Micah Fenney NYA - Sophomore - Post Micah Fenney made his presence known around the rim. As a sophomore, he led the team in scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocks for the Raiders. Almost half of his total rebounds were offensive boards. Micah is the son of Rhonda and Ladaryl Fenney. CONGRATULATIONS to Vanessa Schmidt for being named to the 2023-24 All-Conference Girls Basketball Team! Vanessa Schmidt - Sophomore - Wing/Forward Vanessa Schmidt is a sophomore and averaged 12.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. Vanessa can score inside and outside from the floor. She is a first-year letter winner and has a GPA of 3.92. She is the daughter of Jeff Schmidt and Julie Schmidt. Honorable Mention All-Conference: Ayla Fox - Senior - Center

Yesterday the Central Concert Band participated in the Subsection Band Contest held at Jordan High School. The Central band performed in front of 3 adjudicators and received 3 ratings: Superior. After the performance, the band worked with one of the judges in a clinician setting, retired Fulda HS band director Mike Peterson is pictured working with the Central band students. CONGRATULATIONS Central Band on your Superior Ratings!!
