Check out some of the other fun activities that first graders did during their Astronomy unit!

Let’s check in on a cool activity with Science Teacher Lauren Scherer:
What impact does ice have on solar radiation reaching Earth? 9th grade scientists created their own experiments to learn about the Albedo Effect (the way that different surfaces reflect sunlight back into space). We used heat lamps as our heat source and each group came up with unique ways to create conditions that represented icy and non-icy surfaces of our planet, then tracked temperature over time over multiple trials. Our conclusion? Ice is nice for planet Earth!
